Josh, The Disabled Goldendoodle in Arizona, is suffering from severe cerebellar hypoplasia, and he’s using his Instagram account — which has over 300,000 followers – to spread the word of love.
Josh, the Goldendoodle, enjoys life to the fullest. He’s enthusiastic and energetic, and he inspires us all to be loud and proud of whatever we’re up to.
His dog mom Kimberly Elliot, founded the Be Like Josh Foundation after the 5-year-old canine was diagnosed with special needs.
Josh, the disabled Goldendoodle, has nearly 300,000 Instagram followers.
Josh is a curly-coated puppy who enjoys hanging out with humans and other animals. Unfortunately, he also has cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological disorder in which the cerebellum is underdeveloped at birth.
Elliot explains it as his mind understanding what’s going on while his body struggles to execute movements.
Josh gets around by romping around the yard on a specially built pair of canine wheels, a harness that Elliot uses to assist him in getting up, and a doggie backpack that he snuggles into for hikes on his human’s back.
He goes camping, plays at the beach, and enjoys walks in the comfort of a cart pulled by his owners so he may see the world like any other dog.
Despite his physical limitations, Elliot describes Josh as an easygoing, amiable dog that is up for anything and enjoys adventures in the outdoors.
She further explains, “His physical challenges don’t appear to bother him. He’s such a wonderful, joyful soul.”
Josh originally entered Elliot’s life as a puppy when she was browsing animal rescue websites and came across a photo of a red Goldendoodle puppy.
Elliot and her husband agreed to foster Josh, the disabled dog until he could find a forever family that could fulfill his needs.
Elliot says of their first days together, “We understood that incorporating Josh into our lives would be difficult if we couldn’t think beyond the box. But we decided we could do this. Josh is welcome to remain as long as he wants.”
Elliot became a huge advocate for dogs with neurological problems once Josh entered their life.

She started the Be Like Josh Foundation to help dogs with unique needs. Through their famous social media posts and community activities, she reached thousands of individuals with Josh at her side as an ambassador.
This powerful duo and the other animals in her care are on a mission to promote inclusivity for everyone.
The Be Like Josh foundation serves two purposes: it rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes canines with neurological disorders.
Elliot and her team also run a community outreach arm that focuses on acceptance and love for all animals and people. Moreover, they frequently host events at schools where Josh himself is the star of the show.
He inspires kids to be kind and embrace all people and animals regardless of their differences.

“I’m better with Josh now… since he has told me so much. He has utterly disproved every self-limiting belief I’ve ever held.” Elliot expresses his thoughts. “I am incredibly grateful for this journey and him.”
