Before the birth of her tiny human, Martina, this golden retriever could not contain her anticipation. She was excited to have a new best friend she could play fetch with.

During her mom, Maria Fernanda Osterling’s pregnancy, Luna the dog would not leave her side and continued to support her.
Maria said in an interview, “I was very curious to know if it would continue after Martina was born. And I was pleasantly surprised.”
As soon as the tiny human came into this world, Luna welcomed her baby sister more warmly than Osterling had expected.
She said, “She treats her like her sister. She protects her, takes care of her, and lies by her side when Marti sleeps.”
But poor Luna doesn’t know that her tiny human has years to grow up before she starts playing fetch with her.
Osterling caught an adorable moment between Luna and Martina. Luna walked into the tiny human’s room with her favourite blue ball in her mouth.

She then gently threw the ball into Martina’s crib, hoping she would throw it back. When the asleep toddler could not return the favour, Luna seemed a tad bit disappointed.
Even though Luna was a bit confused why Martina didn’t get the cue, she seemed joyful to include the baby in her fun adventure.

Osterling added, “I was very moved because it showed me that Luna loves Martina, even though Martina still can’t show her the same yet. I know that Luna loves her very much and wants to be with her and play.”
“I’m sure that when Martina grows up, they will be great friends and sisters. The capacity that a little animal has to give us love is infinite. And Luna knows how to express it very well,” says the mum.
