This is Marquette. She is a fetch-loving dog that does not fail to get so excited when she lays her eyes on a ball.
However, just recently, Marquette noticed a different ball of another kind, not knowing that it’s more than just a bit out of reach.
A couple of days ago, during an evening walk together with her mom, Gretchen Bach, Marquette saw something glowing luminously in the twilight blue sky. The pup was immediately mesmerized.
According to Bach, her dog paused in her tracks and began staring up at the dim blue sky. At first, Bach thought that Marquette might be keeping an eye on a bird. However, she then realized that her curious dog spotted the moon.
To Marquette’s very nosy eyes, seeing the moon for the very first time, it obviously appeared to be like an astronomical tennis ball that is about to be tossed for her. And she’s so up to play fetch with that kind of ball.
Bach said that she was very shocked that Marquette noticed the moon. She thought that her inquisitive dog was puzzled about why there was that thing in the twilight sky that was not moving. Perhaps, Marquette did think that it was a ball. The dog chased it for possibly 30 seconds.
But sadly the moon couldn’t be caught.
Marquette did not get the opportunity to play fetch with that moon, so much to her disappointment. However, that evening, with an eager and curious gaze focused directly on the skies, Marquette joined the levels of various greatest minds of history – striving and pondering to reach the worlds beyond our own.
As of the moment, though, just a typical old tennis ball would have to be the best choice. However, Marquette’s mom is still impressed.
Bach said that she is so proud of Marquette.
