In the Philippines, a dog named Duke went viral after his before and after adoption photos circulated online. Duke’s transformation was evident in the pictures, and he looked so much happier now than in his previous life.
According to Sam Delai, the netizen who uploaded Duke’s photos, the dog looked miserable when she first saw him. She learned about Duke through an animal welfare group that she supports, and he described him as ‘the most broken’ creature she has seen.
Duke’s story
Duke’s previous owner surrendered him to a city pound after he bit someone. It was a heart-wrenching moment for the dog as all he did at the pound was wait for his family to come back and pick him up. But days and weeks passed, and they never came back for him.
Thankfully, after endless times of waiting, a beautiful family came to adopt Duke and save him from the misery that he was going through. Jesse Lozada Seddon, Duke’s new fur mom, instantly connected with the dog when she laid eyes on him. On the other hand, Duke also seemed to know that she was going to be his new mom as he did not hesitate to get into her car.
Since then, Duke’s new family pampered him with love and care. His new fur parents brought him to the groomer to get him cleaned up. They also brought him to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations.
Duke is now free to roam around the house and no longer chained up, just like when he got impounded. He enjoys playing, walking, and bonding with his mom and fur siblings. He now lives a happier life surrounded by people who genuinely care for him.
