In Los Angeles, California, a good Samaritan found a French Bulldog puppy in a dumpster. The puppy was in very bad shape. She had severe mange and lacerations on her emaciated body. She was taken to a local nonprofit organization called Angel City Pitbulls.
They named the puppy Q-Tip, and a regular foster parent at Angel City Pitbulls named Erin quickly volunteered to take her in. Q-Tip stayed in a crate for the first three weeks of her stay in foster care because her skin was so delicate. She did not seem to mind and always napped as though she had not slept for a very long time.
Even though Q-Tip was separated from everyone, they did not make her feel alone. Erin would let her hang out with the other dogs in the room. She and her husband took turns taking her out of the crate to have cuddle sessions with her. They wanted to give her love as much as possible.
Q-Tip started to look and feel better after three weeks. By the fourth week, her skin condition had improved. Erin could put a collar on her and take her out for walks. Q-Tip looked forward to their little walks.
After 11 weeks in foster care, Q-Tip was a completely different dog. She was constantly curious and loved to zoom in the yard. She was a lovable rascal.
Erin and her husband considered the idea of adopting Q-Tip. However, adding her to the pack would mean constant supervision because their playtime could get tense and uncomfortable.
A couple of wonderful ladies named Kati and Bridgette filed an application for adoption. They brought their senior dog along for the meet and greet. Q-Tip seemed to fit in perfectly with the family, so they made the adoption official.
Erin would miss her, but she knew that her efforts were all worth it. She was sure that Q-Tip would be loved.
