Rescue Pit Bull Thinks He Is A Cat

Our dogs are inherently social and intelligent creatures. As a result, they naturally seek to be part of a pack. Also, they are quick learners and can easily adapt to their environments.

Now, meet Mako, the very cute pit bull that is a personification of these characteristics, albeit unusual.

Bethany and Samantha Castiller wondered when adopting Mako from a shelter if he would get along with the house cats. Just to be safe, they kept Mako and the cats in separate parts of the house and decided to slowly introduce them to each other.

But, as soon as Mako met the cats, the owners said he started jumping up and down on the tables around the house.

They thought the Pit Bull was just excited and full of energy.

As it turned out, Mako has some familiarity with cats and there was nothing to worry about. The owners are saying that most of the time Mako thinks he’s one of the cats. It’s as if Mako, like most rescue pets, seems to have chosen his new family instead of them choosing him.

According to Bethany, when they got to the shelter, Mako looked over his shoulders and stared at them.

It was right then and there that they fell in love with the pit bull.

On the other hand, Mako fell in love with the cats in his owners’ house and Bethany and Samantha realized that he even acts like them. The two women think that Mako might have grown up or lived with cats in his former homes.

That would explain how the adorable pit bull has adopted feline behaviors and tastes.

He even loves lounging where the cats usually rest – such as the top of the fridge, on the cupboards, on top of counters and tables.
