During the height of the global lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of us had no choice but to stay indoors. But, at least most of us are able to talk and get in touch with our friends and family.
But what about our pets? Well, turns out they can also meet new friends using human technology like the internet. This golden retriever meets a dolphin after video chatting.

Meet Kevin, an Instagram-famous dog that lives in Tampa, Florida with his owner. The golden retriever loves making friends and going on various kinds of adventures.
And like most of us, this adorable pup had been communicating with his friend through the internet.
It started when a staff of Clearwater Marine Aquarium learned that Kevin loves duck hats.
Turns out, the aquarium’s rescue dolphin (named Winter) loves ducks.
The staff decided to send Kevin a video of Winter and her care specialist, saying hello and inviting the pup for a video chat. Soon, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium posted the video of Kevin while watching the one they sent him.
The caption mentioned the start of a “pawfect” friendship – with the hashtag #InternationalDayOfFriendship.
Next, Kevin – while wearing his duck hat, of course – and Winter finally met each other via FaceTime.
It was such a cute moment between dog and dolphin and many people on the internet are loving it.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium also formally invited Kevin to come and meet his new friend, this time in real life, and not just through video.
And when the arrangements were finalized, Kevin had a day out at the CMA to visit Winter as well as the other rescued dolphins in the aquarium.
According to Elysse Gorney, Kevin’s human, they had the aquarium to themselves and met so many new friends. But, the most important visit was to the dolphin complex where Kevin met Winter and watched in awe as his new friend enjoyed a swim.
He even got to swim with Winter at the dolphin’s old home. Elysse said that not only was it the best day for Kevin, but it was also one of hers.
