Osiris is a Dutch Shepherd. Riff Ratt is, quite obviously, a rat. And they have the most remarkable friendship that no one would have ever thought of. They are both rescues to this loving family.
After being abandoned in a parking lot, these people rescued Osiris and brought him to their home. He was only meant to stay with the family for a short while before moving on to a permanent family. But they fell in love with him immediately and Osiris now has a home.
Riff Ratt had a rough start to life. At the tender age of 4 weeks old, he needed rescuing.
Thankfully to Osiris, who helped every step of the way to bring this rat back to full health. And Osiris did not hesitate to welcome him to the family.
Now, obviously, this dog and rat are partners in crime and do not spend a moment away from each other. Of course, there is incredible trust between the two of them. And the things they do with each other are very unique and would seem unusual.
They are so close and inseparable that Riff Ratt climbs into Osiris’ mouth to clean his teeth. Understandably, everyone had concerns that Osiris would chomp down and eat Riff Rat, but this never happened.
Now, no one fears when these two friends are together.
“Riff Ratt like licking the inside of Osiris’ mouth.” their human says “I’m sure you all are wondering if we’re afraid Osiris will eat Riff – NOPE!” she exclaims.
She continues to say that Osiris is the gentlest dog she has ever met. Also, that he has helped foster and care for dozens of animals. They care for each other and their unexpected friendship gives her a tiny bit of hope for other creatures on earth – especially humans.
