There’s a special bond between an eight-year-old boy named Bryson and his furry best friend named Bruce. During Bruce’s illness, Bryson sold off his prized, rare Pokémon cards to get him treatment. Regardless of what he had to sacrifice to pay the vet bills, he did everything he could to save his dog.
Toys, security blankets, beloved pets, and maybe something very sentimental are among the things kids hold dear in their hearts. Well, Bryson has to attest that all the other stuff comes nowhere close to the love he has for his dog, Bruce.
Bryson knew he would not have to hesitate about running to Bruce’s aid if it meant saving his life.
In general, Bruce, a 4-month-old Labrador Retriever, is a healthy, happy, and playful pup. Then one day, Bryson realized Bruce wasn’t getting out of his bed to play. Additionally, he appeared fatigued and depressed. He started to also lose weight.
Bruce’s mom, Kimberly Woodruff, took him to the vet immediately.
Despite receiving all his vital vaccinations, a veterinarian discovered Bruce had parvo. An infectious disease that kills dogs. Bruce’s vet estimated that his treatment would cost $700.
Unfortunately, the family of Bryson couldn’t immediately pay for such a sum. A worried boy’s thoughts turned to how to get his dog treatment. He made up his mind that he would sell his Pokemon cards and use the money to pay for Bruce’s treatment.
Bryson Sells Rare Pokémon Cards to pay for vet bills
He wasted no time. To advertise his Pokémon cards for sale, he put up a stand and made a sign in their front yard. However, he did not sell many cards. Therefore, Bryson’s mother put his photo on a local Facebook group, hoping people from the hometown would visit and buy his cards.
Additionally, Kimberly made a GoFundMe page for his treatment, inspiring other pet owners, particularly.
The page, thanks to the help and support of so many people, raised over $20,000, even though they needed to raise just $800. Without selling his rare Pokémon cards.
Bryson reunited with Bruce after a week of treatment. A portion of the earnings was donated to a local animal shelter, and the remainder was used to assist other struggling families with their vet bills.
Thanks to DailyPaws for their contribution and to Kimberly Woodruff and her family for their special love.
