Tilly, the lost dog, ejected in a car crash, was found herding sheep on a nearby farm after missing for two days.
The 2-year-old Border Collie mix was traveling with his family on a Sunday when they were hit by another car.
Tilly was ejected from the side of the GMC Yukon and disappeared from sight.
With no luck in finding Tilly for almost 10-hours, the Oswalds, along with the local Idaho State Police, sought help from social media in hopes of reuniting with their lost dog.
Dog lovers worldwide shared the lost dog Facebook post over 3,000 times, hopeful of locating the missing dog and bringing him back to his loving hoomans.
In the meantime, an older woman in Southern California saw the post and shared it with her grandsons, who run the Potter Family farm close to the area where the accident occurred.
Two days later, the Potters found their dog acting strangely. When they closely inspected, the men realized it wasn’t their dog. In fact, it was the lost dog advertised on social media.
They found it strange that a dog that had never heard sheep was doing it so naturally.
Tilly, who has never worked on the farm in his two years, followed in the footsteps of his ancestors and was herding sheep like he’d done it before.
When reunited with his owners, Linda Oswald shared, “He’ll herd anything. When I go to the dog park, he tries to herd the people into one group.”
Tilly is safely back home, receiving all the love, kisses, and belly rubs from his hoomans that he missed out on while herding sheep.
