Before becoming a shelter dog, Mac wandered the streets of Pasco, Washington and was found by a Good Samaritan. The man brought Mac to the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter, hoping the dog would find a loving family.
With so many other dogs trying for adoption, Mac began sticking her paws outside the kennel bars for passersby to hold.
Luckily, someone did.
Julie Saraceno, a volunteer at the shelter, said, “She was a favorite of mine and many other volunteers. I was hooked on her that first day she pawed at me through her kennel!”
Mac, a sweet and adorable black Lab mix, became famous at the shelter for her smartness, affection, and enthusiasm to find a loving home.
The shelter dog soon learned that if he stuck her paws out of the kennel bars, she would have more chances of grabbing passerby’s attention.
Fortunately the trick worked.

Saraceno wanted Mac to find a loving family, so she made a video and posted it on social media. As the video went viral, messages began pouring in, asking if the pup was up for adoption.
After seeing the video, a kind woman drove all the way from Montana to give Mac a forever home. The two instantly connected and became best friends.
“I cried happy tears!” Saraceno said.
Thank you The Dodo for the story. Thank you Julie Saraceno for the cute video!
