A Hero Dog saves his family from a very dangerous situation. The family had adopted Capone, a Min Pin, Chihuahua, and whippet mix after finding him abandoned on the side of the highway.
Little did they know that saving his life would save their own. Isaac and Angela had nine children, all of whom were sleeping when the fire started.
Capone gave a warning two minutes before the smoke detector set off. This provided just enough time for everyone to leave the house before the fire became out of hand.
It was 1h30 on March 15th when Capone went berserk. “Capone – shut up! You’re going to wake the baby,” Angela cried out.
Capone barked and barked. Angela called Capone to her, instead, he continued barking.
She knew something was wrong. She headed to the source of his sound. In the kitchen, the plug for the microwave was in flames.
Angela knew she had to get her family out – this was no fire that could have been brought under control. She called her 12-year-old son to get the others up while she lifted 5-month-old Atreyu and 20-month-old Mordecai out of their beds.
As they fled out the house, the kitchen was up in flames and only then the smoke alarm activated.
Everyone made it out safely. They lost everything to that fire. They had the most important thing though – their lives. All because Capone had warned them in time.
The family temporarily lived in a hotel and had to separate from Capone. He was so depressed without his family that he did not eat for three days. Once he returned to his family, he refused to leave the baby’s side and slept with Alexander at night.
“He’s pretty special,” Angela said. “He loves his family.”
Capone moved into a new house with the family and now has a large garden to play in. He is his family’s hero.
“I’m glad we found him on the highway,” Angela said. “I believe it was supposed to happen.”
