The majority of shelter dogs have traumas because of what they have gone through before they were rescued. As a result, many people struggle to build connections with these dogs. Some of the animals are simply terrified by the sheer presence of any human.
Clementine was once one of these canines. She had a fairly tragic past. She was also scheduled to be euthanized, but a woman named Chelsea Elizabeth Cossairt discovered her online and saved her. This resulted in Clementine being adopted.
Clementine initially refused to look at anyone, but she ultimately underwent a remarkable Editurnaround. Here is her miraculous story of survival.
When Chelsea first met Clementine, it was evident that the dog had never known affection and love before. Chelsea said that the dog was terrified of humans and refused to look anyone in the eye. The dog would constantly shake, hide behind the furniture, and face the wall – and she did this for months.
When anyone approached Clementine, she would simply bow her head down.
However, Clementine trusted other dogs. She was drawn to her two new siblings, Maple and Moose. At this time, Chelsea saw a glimmer of hope — the prospect that Clementine could develop into a better dog.
After several visits to the vet and months of medication, Clementine began to feel better. She soon gained the confidence to look at her fur parents and she also stopped shaking.
After several months, Clementine began to look at her mother in the eye. It appeared to be her new favorite activity.
When Chelsea talks to her, Clementine would become quite attentive. It was as if she was absorbing her fur mom’s every word.
However, Clementine remained distrustful of people. She was still easily frightened by her owners’ sudden movements. Despite that, this courageous and robust dog has already changed a lot and for the better.
