Jubilee, a 4-year-old Siberian Husky, has a congenital issue with her eyelids, causing her to look perpetually surprised. She was surrendered to a New Jersey shelter because of her “weird” eyes.
The good news is, she has been adopted after photos posted on Facebook went viral.
Husky House received Jubilee from a breeder in 2018, as her appearance made her unsuitable for sale.
Despite her congenital problem with the eyelids, Jubilee is otherwise healthy.
She had been thoroughly checked out by the vets. Her condition does not affect her at all or slow her down in any way. Rather, she is healthy and happy.
She was surrendered by her breeder due to a congenital defect in her eyelids.
However, Jubilee has been unable to find a family that loves her for the past two years.
On Facebook, Husky House made a heartbreaking plea for her adoption.
“I came from a ‘breeder’ who couldn’t sell me because he said I was ‘weird’ looking,” the shelter posted. “Huskies are majestic looking dogs and I don’t know why I don’t look like them.”
“I wish I was beautiful so someone would want me to be their dog.”
Husky House caregivers were apprehensive about whether their plea would succeed, but they were surprised when the message went viral.
The Husky House representative told CNN that they received more than 150 applications from people who wanted to adopt Jubilee.
Since the original Facebook post went viral, Husky House reports that they have been overwhelmed with love, support, and adoption inquiries.
“We are so happy to see that everyone feels she is as wonderful as we always knew she was.” The representative shared.
Husky House announced the happy news that Jubilee has found her loving family, who had adopted another dog from them before.
