Stray Pregnant Dog Is Given A Safe Place Where She Could Give Birth To Her Pups

Stray Pregnant Dog Is Given A Safe Place Where She Could Give Birth To Her Pups

A good Samaritan lived in a neighborhood in Los Angeles. One day, she spotted a very pregnant, homeless pit bull, and she felt she needed to seek help for it quickly. To do this, she snapped a photo of the dog and forwarded it to a local animal care and rescue organization called Hope For Paws.

Katie and JoAnn, two of the group’s volunteers, rushed to rescue the dog, who was eventually called Waffles.

Katie and JoAnn instantly saw Waffles when they arrived at the location. They didn’t have to search for her. In fact, the moment she noticed them, the dog went toward them and said hello. She seemed ecstatic to see them, as though she knew they were coming to assist her.

It was unnecessary to gain the dog’s trust, but rescuers nonetheless offered her food. Since they purchased the delicious cheeseburger for her, it is only fair to offer it to her.

Moments thereafter, the rescuers made the decision to leave. Katie attached a leash on the dog’s neck, but JoAnn decided that carrying Waffles to the car was preferable to allowing her to walk. Consequently, she carried the pregnant female and loaded her into the back of the Hope For Paws rescue vehicle.

The veterinarians at the clinic said that Waffles was over 51 days pregnant and would soon give birth. They also stated that she had approximately six or seven puppies in her stomach. They offered to keep her until she gave birth, but JoAnn chose to bring her home.

Waffles went into labor and gave birth to her first puppy, Pancake, within a few hours. Moments later, she gave birth to her second and third pups, Sausage and Beignet. She was so fatigued that she required a brief rest. But afterward, Doughnut, Hashbrown, and Croissant were introduced to the world.

Waffles was overjoyed that she did not have to give birth on the street. She was so grateful that her children would not have to face homelessness. However, she was most appreciative that they all had greater opportunities in life.

The mother dog and her puppies got happy endings with the assistance of Angel City Pit Bulls Rescue. They soon said farewell to their rescue companions and joined their new families.
