Typhoon, a seven-year-old family dog in the Guaratuba district of Bertioga, Brazil, saved the life of a young girl heroically while endangering his own life.
According to the Brazilian news website G1, the girls’ mother dispatched her younger sister to a nearby apartment to open the gate as asked by the property’s owner.
She was challenged by the Jararaca (a highly poisonous snake found in South America) on her way back to the family.
The assault was carried out by a jararaca snake, which was believed to be around six feet long.
The 24-year old Andressa da Silva dos Santos said that if it hadn’t been for Typhoon, the snake would have attacked her 12-year-old sister.
She saw the jararaca approaching when she was coming back. She screamed after seeing it. Her sister was also frozen by fear until the Typhoon arrived on the scene.
Later, the girl said that her mother had four dogs, and they all followed, but only Typhoon faced the snake.
In desperation to attack the Jararaca, the poor Typhoon got bitten a few times. Jararaca is a highly venomous snake. A single bite can take the life of any individual in a few moments. The snake bit Typhoon multiple times.
The snake then crawled away, and the family took Typhoon to a veterinary clinic.
The doctor even said that if the dog was not there then the 12-year-old child wouldn’t have survived. According to him, the dog has much more resistance to the poison.
Typhoon’s value soared dramatically high in the eyes of his masters, naturally so.
The family then tried to raise funds for Typhoon’s treatment and ensured that he would make a full recovery and return home soon. Despite difficult circumstances, Dog’s unwavering loyalty towards a man cannot be further testified than this remarkable incident.
