On an ordinary day, passers-by heard screeching howls emanating from an apartment block. As several figured out where the noise came from, they came across a terrible sight: a dog named Rada, hanging upside down from the edge of a second-floor balcony.
Rada could’ve slipped at any time, and the situation could’ve ended terribly.
Locals rushed to assist the dog in escaping a terrible position in which she was clinging to life. As time passed, more and more residents began to gather.
Finally, a ladder was provided, and a man saved Rada.
The rescue mission was successful, and no one recognized the depth of her injuries at the time.
Everything seemed fine for a bit, but everyone instantly noticed that something wasn’t quite right with her appearance.
She didn’t appear to be in good health, her ribs were exposed, and even the innocent youngsters could tell she was hungry and weak.
Of course, this created some suspicions about the owner. But at the time, Rada’s health took precedence over justice, and she was rushed to the veterinarian.
The dog was diagnosed with anemia, a blood disorder characterized by a lack of hemoglobin in the blood.
In addition, she appeared to be tired, terrified, and traumatized. However, the good news was that she had begun treatment.
None of the local shelters wanted the dog, but an hour after the news surfaced, someone said the puppy was taken to the clinic.
Finally, some generous volunteers and the “Do Good” animal rescue charity provided her with food and shelter.
The issue piqued people’s interest, and they wanted to know what had transpired. It appears her alcoholic owner had her imprisoned.
The owner, on the other hand, has a tangled story. It turns out he’s well-known to the cops, and they’ve been to the apartment several times for various reasons.
According to Russian publications, the owner is an alcoholic who constantly drank with his buddies, frequently raised a commotion, and even refused to let police in after they’d been summoned to deal with the matter. But things went on as usual; the owner seemed unconcerned about the penalty.
Local volunteer Galina Ionina submitted an extra police report for animal mistreatment.
The police have already summoned the owner on several occasions. He was fined, but he didn’t seem to mind and went on with his heinous actions. According to the investigation, the owner just left town and locked a cat and a dog in an apartment, leaving them to die.
Sadly, Rada was still luckier than the cat despite her suffering. Unfortunately, Russian sources reported that the cat had died.
Even while it would have been good if the cat had lived, we can’t overlook the fact that at least one of them made it out of the cage. The dog is slowly but steadily improving in the “Do Good” animal protection society.
She’s in much better hands now, and all we can hope for is that she’ll find a forever family filled with care and love.
