Paralympic athlete Andrea Pusateri believes nothing is impossible. He has worked to prove this statement throughout his life and continues to do so.
Considering the shocking challenges and hurdles, the young Italian Paralympic athlete has encountered great feats in his life.
Andrea, in 1997, fell onto the train tracks while playing at the Monza Station.
Little Andrea did not see a speeding train heading his way. His mother’s quick reflexes pulled him away; however, she lost her life trying to save her kid.
Unfortunately, that day, Pusateri did not just lose his mother but also his right leg.

With resilience, the young boy pulled through and did not give up, and through sports, he learned to live and found his purpose. After recovery, Andrea resorted to cycling and became a champion.
His love for the sport made him a Paralympic athlete in 2008. From there, he went on to champion both national and international sports competitions.
Sadly in 2015, he faced another near-death experience. Pusateri encountered serious injuries while training in Como. The Paralympic athlete was airlifted to a hospital, where he spent seven days in critical care. Luckily, he survived.
Interestingly, throughout his journey, there have been two constants: his dogs, Maya and Sally.
Andrea said, “The family and my dogs, Maya and Sally, have always supported me in any of my craziness and given me that extra energy to face everything.”
The two dogs have stuck by his side through every competition. They’ve been Pusateri’s greatest supporters and confidantes. Both the dogs have unique personalities and continue to shine in the athlete’s life.
The athlete’s fans on Instagram love seeing the two dogs hiking and training with Pusateri in beautiful locations. Their bond with their hooman is unbreakable. They sometimes take turns walking between Andrea’s braces.
