Ike was a homeless dog that went to great lengths living a life on the streets. When he got hurt, he lay on the grass by the side of the road and waited for who knew how long for help to come. Fortunately, Calvin, an independent rescuer, found him. And it took a special cat to make him feel at home.
Calvin always took the same route going home from work. But on that day, he went on a different exit, and only when he saw Ike did he realize why.
He was meant to help the poor dog
The rescuer was about to pick up the dog when police and animal control officers showed up. He tried to convince them to let him take the pup, but he failed. They had to follow protocol, so they transferred the dog to the care of the local animal shelter.
Calvin waited for the 7-day stray hold to be over and quickly pulled out the dog from the shelter. He tagged along with his friend Kendahl and asked her for help, and she did not hesitate to lend a hand.
While he raised funds for the dog’s surgery, she brought the dog home and took care of it
In no time, Ike had his surgery and was back in his foster home. Kendahl was with him all the time but he didn’t like her so much so he really didn’t care. But when she finally introduced him to Uno, her cat, he acted differently.
He liked him more than he liked her!
From the start, Ike knew Uno was his friend. He loved having him around and found comfort just seeing him all day long. He couldn’t wait to recover because he wanted to play with him so bad.
Uno, meanwhile, felt the same way about Ike. He let him shower him with love and he didn’t mind getting wet every time he kissed him. He was his best buddy and he accepted him as a family member.
Kendahl saw the bond between Ike and Uno. It was just so special and incredible that even after she put the dog up for adoption, she rescinded.
She realized he belonged with them, so she let him stay with them for the rest of their lives
