Before becoming a shelter dog, Cow was found tied to a fence outside the Louisiana SPCA in January. One morning, a staff member discovered him and brought him in to keep for food and shelter.
The dog was alone, scared, and probably hungry when the shelter took him in.
In an interview, a staff member, NeNe Lewis of the Louisiana SPCA, shared, “He was very fearful and would low growl when meeting new people.”
“When he was given treats and people would ‘baby talk’ to him, he would stop. Since he was found tied to our fence, it makes his reaction common,” she continued
With time, the shelter dog became comfortable with his new family and relaxed into his new life.
Cow had spent nearly two months at the shelter when the staff began finding him a new family until they found his old family back.
Later, the shelter found out that Cow was stolen from his real family.
He then ended up at the shelter and became a shelter dog. When his family learned about Cow, they were thrilled to reunite with their dog. And so was Cow!
Cow had become friends with everyone at the shelter. He was a sweet and friendly dog. But when he saw his mom again, he could not contain his happiness.
Lewis shared, “Cow was so excited to see his family. He was jumping off the walls and his tail was wagging as we’d never seen before! You could tell from his reaction when he saw his mom that he was reunited with his family!”
When the shelter dog saw his mom, he jumped into her arms and hugged her tight.
Both the mom and the dog were over the moon.
The reunion melted everyone at the shelter, and sweet Cow was reunited with his loving family.
Thank you The Dodo for the happy story!
