Joey is a special shelter dog who has learned never to give up or slow down in life. And nothing brings her more comfort than her stuffed toys.
The special three-month-old Chihuahua wants to do all the things her brothers and sisters do at the Vintage Pet Rescue.
Even though the shelter dog doesn’t have front legs, he still runs circles playing catch.
In an interview, the founder of Vintage Pet Rescue, Kristen Peralta, said, “Joey is one of the happiest dogs we have ever met.”
He doesn’t know that he’s different, and he absolutely loves playing with toys, wrestling with the other dogs, enjoying his splash pad, and getting cuddles.
Be it sleeping or playing, Joey likes to go all the way. Once the shelter dog has exhausted all his energy, he seeks the coziest place in the house and falls asleep cuddling his stuffed toys.
He mostly enjoys sleeping with a Lamb Chop toy that’s his size.
Peralta shared, “He’s still very much a puppy, so he will play hard and then he naps hard. Joey loves to cuddle up with his big stuffed animals and take a long nap.”
He loves his stuffed toys!
“Joey can hop upstairs, hop up on the couch and pretty much get wherever he wants to go,” Peralta said. “It’s really incredible to see him get around so well. Nothing stops him.”
After the shelter dog is neutered and finds a custom wheelchair, he will be up for adoption.
“We know we will have hundreds of applications for him,” Peralta said. “But there’s only one Joey!”
