Mr. Happy Face, the world’s ugliest dog, may be adorable for some, but others might find it a complete nightmare.
A 17-year-old rescue, Mr. Happy Face, was titled the world’s ugliest dog on Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds and Event Center in Petaluma, California.
Jeneda Benelly, Mr. Happy Face’s owner, adopted him when he was only given a few weeks to live in August 2021.
The ugliest dog was rescued from a hoarder’s house and brought to a shelter in Arizona, where Benelly adopted him.
“When I first met him, he was the happiest creature that I had ever met. He hobbled up to me and chose me,” she added.
“I vowed that day; he would be so loved that he would never remember how awful his previous life had been. Love, kindness and mommy kisses have helped him defy the anticipated short life that we all expected him to have with our family.”
The world’s ugliest dog is a hairless, Chinese crested-Chihuahua mix breed that is rare and unique.
