Following the death of their dog, Julio Cesar Chavez Lopez on Thursday, Mario Lopez and his wife Courtney are paying respect to him.
On Instagram, the Access presenter uploaded a series of images of the French bulldog, featuring the pet with his children — Gia Francesca, Dominic, and Santino Rafael —

“A difficult day. Julio had to be put down after 13 years. He was a fantastic dog.”
The photographs were captioned by Lopez. “The only animal on the planet who loves you more than he loves himself is a dog. A life without a good dog is a life that is lessened.”
In addition, the television personality stated, “Julio Thank you, I adore you, and I cherish the time you’ve spent with us. #BestDogEver #JulioCesarChavezLopez”
Kit Hoover, his Access co-host, expressed her sympathy in the post’s comments section. “Nooooooooo!!! I’m sending you big hugs.” She tweeted with the account of the entertainment news show, adding a simple red heart emoji.
Courtney Lopez, Mario Lopez’s wife, also mourned Julio’s death on social media, calling the dog her “firstborn.”
“I never thought this day would come, and I am devastated. Run free with all of your cousins and attack as many balls as you want,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to move on from this. Until the next time… Thank you for everything. I adore you.”
Moreover, her friend Vanessa Bryant (who just got a new dog herself this week) commented on the post.
She commented, “Please accept my heartfelt apologies. I’m sending you lots of hugs. Love you.”

Lopez told PEOPLE in 2017 that she had become a pet owner and that Julio as well as their French Bulldog, Marquez Lopez, had helped her family.
“After I married Courtney, my dream of having a dog came true when we got Julio Cesar Chavez Lopez, our first French Bulldog,” he remarked at the time.
“By having these two lovely dogs along for the road over the years, my family and I have learned a lot about ourselves; we have built memories that will last us a lifetime,” he concluded.
Another French Bulldog, Oscar De La Hoya Lopez, joined the Lopez family in 2020.
Thanks to People for the story and pictures.
