Hearing your baby say their first word is very exciting. And the first words are often “mama” or “papa”. But when encouraging your baby to talk, be aware that maybe their fur siblings will get there first.
In this hilarious video, mom, Andrea Diaz-Giovanini, offers her nine-month-old son, Sam, a reward if he could say the word “mama”. And Sam started forming the words with his mouth, but could just not get the word out of his mouth.
Sitting next to Sam, was his pooch brother, Patch. Who was just as eager for the reward as Sam was. He was murmuring and crying with excitement for the treat. He would not take his eyes off Andrea, hoping he would get some.
Then Patch got really excited and while murmuring, he began saying “mama” over and over again. And how accurate it sounds.
Everyone found this to be very amusing and started laughing. Except for poor Sam, who realized that Patch was getting more attention than he was. So he did what every baby would do, and tried to move Patch out of the way.
Eventually, they both got the reward that they deserve. But it still makes for a very cute and funny video. Both Sam and Patch probably now compete against each other to say the word “mama” first to get a delicious treat.
Patch, who is a trained miniature Australian Shepard Dog, came to the family to help in the recovery process of the family’s grandmother after she suffered a brain injury in a car accident. And if she feels she might be having a seizure, Patch would alert another family member.
He is very intelligent and this makes him a very valuable family member and an entertaining one when he speaks.
