Dr. Igor Paiva Dias witnessed the most loyal dog while working in the hospital as the sick owner came in for a procedure. He explained this as the most honest and purest form of friendship.
Mandraque, a loyal dog, unimaginably proved his love for his sick owner.
Mandraque’s owner recently fell ill due to an infection. The hospital sent an ambulance to this home to transport him to the hospital.
While the paramedics did the work, the loyal dog stood and watched his owner transported into the vehicles. He refused to leave his owner’s side even for a minute.
While the ambulance pulled away, Mandraque proved his loyalty by following the truck.
The loyal dog was in tow when the ambulance arrived at the hospital.
As the staff took his owner inside, Mandraque settled outside by the door.
Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long.
Dr. Dias said in an interview, “The moment the dog saw his owner on the stretcher, he immediately jumped up and started licking and kissing him.”
The hospital released Mandraque’s sick owner after he was deemed fit. Again, the ambulance took him to his home. The loyal dog again followed his hooman home, never leaving his side.
“Mandraque didn’t want to get into the ambulance, so the driver was instructed to go at low speed so that the dog could follow. They arrived home safely.”
“Without a doubt, it was very emotional,” Dias said. “The entire health team was moved.”
