Ping Pong, a six-year-old with only three legs, grabbed the attention of his community for the rescue of the baby in Thailand.
His mother, 15, told the police that she had abandoned the baby boy. She wanted to conceal her pregnancy from her parents.
In Ban Nong Kham village, Ping Pong the dog was barking and digging in a field.
The owner claims he then noticed a baby’s leg protruding from the ground. Locals rushed the baby to the hospital, where doctors cleaned him up and declared him healthy.
Usa Nisaikha, the owner of Ping Pong, says, “A car hit the Ping Pong a few years ago. He is unable to move. I decided to keep him. He’s so loyal and obedient. He always goes out of his way to assist me in tending to my cattle in the fields. The entire village adores him. It’s incredible.”
Police filed child abandonment and attempted murder charges against the newborn’s mother.
Panuwat Puttakam, a Thailand police officer at Chum Phuang, told the Bangkok Post that she was now being cared for by her parents and a psychologist.
