An abandoned dog spent almost a year before he found his forever home. A pit bull with wobbly posture spent a year at Pasado’s Safe Haven, a well-known animal sanctuary in Seattle.
Finally, after a long wait, he has found his forever home.
After months of neglect, Finnegan was abandoned by his previous owner. The vets also found hard drugs in his system in a routine checkup.
On the streets, Finnegan was confused for a stray. Ultimately, he landed in a shelter where he was about to be euthanized for his health issues.
“We took Finn because we knew that he was going to be a little tougher to place and we did not know what his medical needs were at the time. We did know that finding the right home to work with him would not happen overnight, even though he is a complete sweetheart. He had such potential and could have been deemed ‘unadoptable’ at places that do not have the luxury of taking time to find the best home. We didn’t want that to happen, so he became a Pasado’s dog.” Says Perciful from Pasado.
Now a year later, at the sanctuary, the pit bull has found his forever home.
Perciful adds, “Someone came along who was just perfect for him and was willing to make these changes to have such a wonderful guy in their life.”
Before Finnegan left the sanctuary, his new hoomans made sure their home was comfortable for the dog.
“He is so joyful that he would bodily throw himself at people for love and play. He was responding well to hand signals, so his mom took it a step further since she knows ASL.”
Finn has adjusted well to his new home and is loved by his hoomans. He receives loads of kisses and cuddles and loves returning them.
