This story is about Beaux Tox, a Labrador retriever with a deformed face who lived a life of constant rejection and neglect. Until one day, someone realized the beauty of Beaux. And wow, is he beautiful!
Check out all of the photos below:
One of the six puppies in his mother’s womb, Beaux got squashed, causing him to have his unique features.
He just got pushed out of the way and developed in the manner he did.
For Beaux, who was intelligent and bubbly despite the deformity, this was only the beginning of a life of hardship.
The people breeding him couldn’t sell him because he had a deformity to his face.
In order to get rid of him, they gave him away for free.
The man who took care of Beaux for five years neglected him and left him outside, all alone.
Beaux was neglected to such a degree that local rescue groups attempted to help him but failed, and what remained of him was a sad, disease-riddled bag of bones, without any hope of survival.
He then met his guardian angel.
Despite Beaux’s dire situation, Jamie had not been deterred by his deformed face and wanted to give him a second chance.
Not caring how badly he might be ill, she said. “I just didn’t want him to go into the foster system again and be returned.”
He Has A Gorgeous Face
“I wanted him to have stability and a place he knew was his home. That is why I adopted him outright from the owner. Beaux Tox had already bounced around and I just wanted him to be a dog.”
Jamie understood how Beaux felt because she had been fostered as a child herself, and had experienced the rejection and false hope that come from being moved from family to family.
The vet who worked with Beaux was Dr. Jay Rydberg, who invested the same amount of time and emotional energy into getting Beaux well as Jamie did.
A chronic case of heartworms nearly claimed his life, but they helped him through it together.
Eventually cleared from his condition, he could go home Jamie was able to take him home.
He has now become a little brother to another Retriever named Riley, who also lives in a happy family.
The two are now best friends.
The two are inseparable.
Despite their age differences (Beaux is 6 and Riley 13), they are perfect for each other, and despite Beaux’s puppy-like behavior that keeps Riley young.
So everything turns out well in the end.
Even after suffering through hardship both physically and emotionally, Beaux Tox still exudes youthful joy and a love for his family. He cannot contain himself.
“He’s so full of life,” Jamie said. “And he’s just brought so much to us.”
